| After lunch we will begin with an evaluation of your riding skills before enjoying a short afternoon trail ride. Later you are encouraged to participate in team sorting in the arena. This helps riders become better acquainted with their horses, as well as with some of the techniques used in working cattle. | |

Day 2: Trailer to the Top of the World

| 9:00 am: | Groom and saddle your horse |
| 10:00 am: | Load horses in the trailer and head to the Boulder Mountain |
| Today’s roundup will cover some of the most beautiful country that south central Utah has to offer at the Griffin Top on the Boulder Mountain. The day will be spent searching for stray cows and calves that frequently hide in the thick underbrush and rough-mountain terrain. While riding through the quaking aspen and pines and into the beautiful high-mountain meadow, you will feel the peace and tranquility that nature has to offer. As you ride, you will pass the famous Powell Point and have an eagle-eye view of the pinnacle of the Table Cliffs Plateau that overlooks the beautiful desert landscape of the Grand Staircase National Monument and Bryce Canyon National Park region. A sack lunch will be eaten along the trail. After an exhilarating day in the saddle, we’ll trailer the horses back to “Cow Camp” where a warm fire, good ol’ fashioned dutch-oven dinner, and your tents await you. | |
Day 3: Round up in the Low Country

| After a breathtaking experience up in the high country of the Griffin Top, today is the day to buckle down and get some work done. The cows and calves have had all summer to get fat and sassy. They also have had time to move to every part of our Forest allotment. A saddle bag lunch will be packed and the horses loaded and trailered to Mud Springs. We will be gathering cattle in the beautiful Mud Springs Canyon and then pushing them through the pines to the majestic Sweet Water Valley. The terrain consists of thick sage brush, as well as forests hiding many large and small clearings which must be checked for hidden cattle. After another day in the saddle, we’ll go back to “Cow Camp” for a hearty dinner and fantastic cowboy entertainment. |
Day 4: Move ‘Em Over to Johns Valley

| Once again we’ll take a sack lunch and hit the saddle. After trailering the horses to Sweet Water Valley, we’ll enjoy a day of searching for the last strays and then pushing the entire herd of around 300 to 400 cattle (heifers and calves) down to Johns Valley. When the cattle finally reach their destination and the Range Boss is satisfied, you’ll return to the Lodge at the Rockin’ R Ranch for a hot shower, grub, and comfortable bed. But most important, you will return with memories that you will be able to share for years to come. |

PLEASE NOTE: This itinerary is subject to change depending upon the location of the cattle, weather, and Forest Service instruction. Expect long hours in the saddle gathering scattered cattle, driving them from canyon to canyon, and up to the summer range.
